Kontist & the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which comes into effect on May, 25th, 2018, uniformly regulates the collection and processing of personal data for all companies operating in the EU.

In order to meet the new regulation we have adapted and agreed our terms and conditions in cooperation with our bank partner Solaris, to ensure that we process all customer data in accordance with the GDPR in time for the May 2018 deadline. The GDPR is introduced in order to standardize the collection and processing of personal data throughout Europe. In addition, the GDPR strengthens individual rights with regard to personal data.

Here is an overview of our updates in connection with the GDPR:

Transparency

We have redrafted our Privacy Policy to make it easier to understand. We give you a clear description what personal information is collected, and for what purpose.

New data processing addendum in the T&Cs

We have added an additional data processing agreement to our Terms of Use, which provides information how your personal information is processed.

Right to be forgotten

Your rights are extended. As soon as you delete your Kontist account, we will initiate the termination of your business bank account and remove all your data, including transactions, from our system. Our partner, the Solaris, will continue to store your banking data as is legally required.
